Fearlessness: Empower Your Life

By Deva Kaur and Sat Purkh Kaur

In today’s culture, empowerment is spoken of so often that it’s become somewhat of a cliché. In truth, empowerment can be extremely elusive for a woman, if she does not create it from within. A woman who's empowered to be herself, to be respected and honored, can change the world.

Fearlessness is a quality of the divine. What does fearlessness mean in the life of a woman, a mother, a sister, a wife? Each of these roles can be rife with insecurity and attachment. The very physiology of woman seems to make her vulnerable—her roles demand a level of attachment that is hard to break. She's wired to be sensitive. She's wired to protect and secure her surroundings.

For a woman to be truly fearless, she has to let go of attachment and ego, and she has to learn to trust. This is the great paradox and the great struggle.

Most women at some point in their lives have been abused—verbally, sexually, physically, even energetically. A woman may walk through life constantly accosted or in fear. The first step toward fearlessness is to let go of the past by locating your Self in the brilliant clarity of stillness we call our soul or Higher Self. Then, expand that Self to connect and rely on the Infinite God. From this platform, we learn to embrace the world anew with love and fearless wisdom; we learn to trust in God within and without.

Those of us who've been abused in the past, especially by people who were supposed to protect us, find this one of the most challenging aspects of transforming from victim to victor. Blame and shame often leave a very deep imprint. But leaving the past behind and trusting in the flow of life is the beginning of fearlessness.

As we clear the past and strengthen and relax into our essence through Kundalini Yoga, our intuition becomes more accurate and we begin to perceive our inner guidance as something we can actually trust. The contraction and restriction of fear is gradually reversed, and we begin to truly explore and apply our talent and potential in all that we do. In the process of letting go of fear, layers of depression and anger may release first. Your deepest fears will be cleared as well.

If you meditate on the sound current of Infinity with each breath, instead of allowing the mind to continually expound on its worries and manipulations, the Universe will assist you through every test, and grant you an attitude of gratitude, which is the ultimate manifestation of grace on this Earth.
